No Vain Loss by M.C. Frank |Review

imageย This is the third instalment of the ‘No Ordinary Star’ series by M.C.Frank. ย She was super awesome and sent me an ARC of this pretty thing.

So let me tell you, the first, like eight pages will rip your heart out. Ow.

What are you doing to me?!?!

Ugh. This book starts intense, ends intense and is all kinds of nuts and ‘holy crap!’ in the middle. Oh jeeze. So much happens in the first 2/3 of the book. Action, and death and emotions and ahhh! My heart was being ripped apart. For reals. The last bit of the book is more emotionally packed, but still pretty intense. I feel for them. So much to have to deal with so young, and so much more to come!

The end is left open for more story. Which I hope happens in the future. Maybe a short story update? *winkwink* I want to know what happens next!?! Don’t leave me hangin!

Starr Fall Street Teamย

I was chosen to be a member of another street team and I’m so excited! Kim Briggs is the bestest. I can’t wait to read the other books in her series and take part in all the good stuff. ๐Ÿ˜€   It’s going to be lots of fun!

I have already read Starr Fall and my review can be found in the post before this one and on my goodreads account.

Starr Fall by Kim Briggs |Review

ย I was sent a copy of Starr Fall as a gift from Kim Briggs. She’s putting together a street team!

I super like the cover. The colours are perfect. I liked this story. Im glad it went the direction it did. If she had made the other decision at the school it would have been a completely different story. There is a looooooot of kissing though. Could have toned that down a wee bit. The relationship seems a little rushed and parts of it are just too perfect, considering all the shit that’s happening.

Also, I really want there to be a magic element to this story. I don’t know if there will be in the sequels but it feels like there should be. There’s little hints everywhere.

I’m excited to see what happens. There’s an ass whuppin coming.

No Ordinary Star & No Plain Rebel by M.C. Frank |Review (2016)

27419429Last year I had the privilege of reading both No Ordinary Star and No Plain Rebel. The #nosstreetteam Frank has created is going to do a blog tour, so here are my reviews so I can maybe take part in that.

I am copying my reviews straight from amazon/goodreads.

First: the cover is super pretty. It looks like it would sparkle in real life.
Second: dystopian books are one of my favourite to read, but they scare the crap out of me. Just the thought that our world could become like this, is terrifying.

I feel bad for both of these characters. They both have sucky lives and are doing their best to figure things out together. Felix seems a little more of a dick though. So he better redeem himself hardcore in the sequels.

The descriptions make everything seem so bleak and depressing. Which adds to the creepy factor for me. So when something of colour is mentioned it makes me happy. There’s also a drastic change in how the characters act. It’s a bit like The Giver.

I’m really hoping the books go in the direction I want them too. I want to read about them stumbling around a really awkward first kiss.

I really like this book, and can’t wait to start the next in the series. I’m dying to know what happens next.

Emotionally I was all over the place. This future earth is scary. I don’t like it! I just want Felix and Astra to live in the cute little ice shack forever.ย I wish I could discover Christmas the way they did. For the first time. It’s all so magical through their eyes.

I’m glad Felix woke up, about time. I hope he kicks some ass in the next book. The end left me so hungry to find out more.

Still love these covers.

No Ordinary Star Street Team

18888594_425724087814856_3008028810164568064_nAuthor M.C Frank has put together this super awesome street team for her new book No Vain Loss, which comes out just before Christmas this year. She has a group of little minions, myself included, all over instagram excitedly reading and talking about her novels. It is so much fun! I can’t wait to read it and read her other books.

There is going to be free stuff and contest and all kinds of good things to come. So far everyone apart of the time is just doing announcements.

I have already read the first two books in this trilogy and loved them. No Ordinary Star and No Plain Rebel. Both reviews can be found on my Goodreads.

I have also read and reviewed her other books Ruined and Lose Me. loved them both too.

I will share more info and goodies as I get them. This is going to be so fun!
