No Ordinary Star & No Plain Rebel by M.C. Frank |Review (2016)

27419429Last year I had the privilege of reading both No Ordinary Star and No Plain Rebel. The #nosstreetteam Frank has created is going to do a blog tour, so here are my reviews so I can maybe take part in that.

I am copying my reviews straight from amazon/goodreads.

First: the cover is super pretty. It looks like it would sparkle in real life.
Second: dystopian books are one of my favourite to read, but they scare the crap out of me. Just the thought that our world could become like this, is terrifying.

I feel bad for both of these characters. They both have sucky lives and are doing their best to figure things out together. Felix seems a little more of a dick though. So he better redeem himself hardcore in the sequels.

The descriptions make everything seem so bleak and depressing. Which adds to the creepy factor for me. So when something of colour is mentioned it makes me happy. There’s also a drastic change in how the characters act. It’s a bit like The Giver.

I’m really hoping the books go in the direction I want them too. I want to read about them stumbling around a really awkward first kiss.

I really like this book, and can’t wait to start the next in the series. I’m dying to know what happens next.

Emotionally I was all over the place. This future earth is scary. I don’t like it! I just want Felix and Astra to live in the cute little ice shack forever. I wish I could discover Christmas the way they did. For the first time. It’s all so magical through their eyes.

I’m glad Felix woke up, about time. I hope he kicks some ass in the next book. The end left me so hungry to find out more.

Still love these covers.
